In an interview, Erin gave a behind-the-screen glimpse of her life as a TV meteorologist.She counts Saturday snuggles in bed with her kids as her way to relax, and a children’s book ‘Goodnight Moon’ is a firm favorite. Her close connection with her kids is evident in her social media posts. Erin lives with her family, which includes her three daughters.Erin won an Emmy Award in 2006 while with KMBC.She loves that she is part of people’s morning routine and helping them prepare for the day with her weather reports. On her return to television, Erin said she was “so excited to be back delivering Kansas City’s weather.This job did not dim her love for broadcasting, and Erin was back on air as a reporter and meteorologist for the KCTV5 News team in March 2018. She became a director at the Shawnee Mission School Board, heading district communications operations.
After a good ten years at KMBC, Erin left in January 2017.Erin later headed to KMBC-TV in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by a year at KDVR – Fox31 before returning to KMBC.She then moved to WOI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, as a weekday morning Meteorologist & Reporter.Her first meteorologist stint was with KOMU-TV as a weekend evening meteorologist right after graduation.She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997 and graduated with a B.S in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. Erin is originally from Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
